What development of capacities and skills to create jobs  and wealth in African countries?

The method in question has been developed in years 1998 - 2012, in Mali. This work has required involvement of many people, I would like to seize this opportunity to extend my thanks to each one of them. This work was akin to an applied research in the field of capacity building by supporting small project bearers of various profiles. This context-driven approach has proven successful in the countries where it was initiated and conducted in Mali, between 1998 and 2012, in Burkina Faso in 2009, and in Mauritania, between 2012 and 2016.

Issue

Many countries need to boost their development in equity. Development schemes are abundant in Africa. Many African countries are still in difficult social and economic situations. Illiteracy hinders a large part of the population from accessing services and fulfilling their duties towards the State. Education and training, in all their aspects, are an important part of this endeavor. However, the costs of conventional training are unaffordable for the majority. In the Malian state, development organizations, communities, families, individuals are struggling to meet the needs deemed an indispensable basis.

The usefulness of academic training is indisputable, but the limits of the education systems of many African countries are visible: limited capacity due to various factors, insufficient relevance to local realities, particularly the labor market. In general, the educational offer must be reviewed. In the hope of reducing the gap between different categories, there is an urgent need to innovate, improve access to services, which only education can facilitate.

Interest of the question

The interest of this question and conducted experimentation lies in attempting to answer questions like how:

  • to promote a learning in common that accommodates both the needs of literates (but with training removed from local realities), and those of illiterates, who cannot read or write?

  • through this learning in common, could the disparities in access to services between different groups and social profiles (literate and illiterate, rural and urban, gender) be reduced?

The capacity / skills development method called "AE" (African Era) and its application modules "CDCA" (Concept of capacity development for Africa) and the "3P" Concept have been developed to contribute.
